Not bad for a first try. A whole wheat hot dog bun is much denser than a white one, so it needs to be thinner, or you won’t be able to finish half of the dog! You fill up too fast on the bun! I’ve made hamburger buns a few more times and we really like them. Still not sure if I want to order the pans from King Arthur’s Flour. I think, after doing this a few times, that I can make them just fine on a regular baking sheet. I’m loving this! One drawback though – I only thought I was baking a lot before. I think I can develop a routine, and then possibly freeze batches of buns too.
