Visit Peggy at The Simple Womanfor her daybook entry and others. FOR TODAY…Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Outside My Window…the tomato plants are full of little red tomatoes and Sparkly’s third cucumber of the season is about ready to be picked. I’m always amazed at the children’s little container gardens. I am thinking…how is it that the children can sense when… Read More
Visit Peggy at The Simple Woman for her daybook entry and others… FOR TODAY… Monday, June 23, 2008… Outside My Window…I’m looking at the hay bales across the street. I’m really lamenting the cut – the field was so pretty all dotted with wildflowers and Queen Anne’s lace, and I’m just certain there were probably some nests for our Killdeers… Read More
Erin – this post is for you 🙂 Erin writes: “Love your pink nappies. Look so pretty. What brand are they? Are you happy with the brand? Btw I notice you have two sidebars again, I remember you posting eons ago on how to do so, I followed the link but couldn’t work it out. I was wondering if you… Read More
I can say this with certainty. A few minutes ago, Peanut slinked around the corner smiling sheepishly. My mommy radar was alarming wildly. Me…”Peanut, what are you doing?” Peanut squirming and looking away…”nuffin” Me…”Peanut, come here.” Peanut very slowly shuffled forward. I could see a translucent brown smeared all around his face – around his mouth, down his chin, across… Read More
Visit Peggy at The Simple Woman to visit to see the rest of the links. FOR TODAY…Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Outside My Window…the kids are watering (themselves) the plants. I do hope a little water trickles into our tomato plants. I am thinking…of the things I need to get done today – laundry, tidying, dinner… I am thankful for…my dad!… Read More
Isn’t she adorable? Look at those chunky little thighs! Sweet Pea really, really wanted to take a picture of Cricket before Mass and have her wear her little bonnet. I think you can see that she is less than thrilled, and is merely tolerating it for the few moments of picture taking….but Sweet Pea treasured the moment.
I think this is such a wonderful way to visit and share. I’ve wanted to do this for several weeks, but I’ve never had the time to sit and add the links and set up the template for starting. This morning, I made my commitment. Visit Peggy at The Simple Woman to join in the fun and visit with all… Read More
Well, ok, she’s been smiling since she was born 🙂 but she’s recently started giggling. You know, that infectious, heart melting, bring-everyone-running-from-the-4-corners-of-the-house giggle.
Cricket looks thrilled, doesn’t she? Terrible lighting – adorable picture. I had to put it up here! I’ll try again with better lighting soon, and see if I can catch one of those heart melting smiles from our littlest. She’s 3 months old today! Happy day sweetie!
I was listening to the children put together their puzzle of the American presidents (we’re studying election history right now,) and I overheard some information that may have been missing from your public school education in American history. I felt compelled to share with you to fill in any gaps you might have in your education: Ulysses S. Grant is… Read More
This! Peanut enjoys his “fikes” – translation – spikes. His hair is fikey!
I have been too busy to post lately – and I have missed it! Donna Marie at A Garden of Roses and Lilies tagged me for this meme (Mom, a meme is like chain mail for a blog.) I don’t always get a chance to participate, but I have a few new readers, so I thought I’d put some random… Read More
I don’t need to tell you how difficult it is to get everyone dressed nicely, shirts tucked, hair brushed, everyone together in one place, and standing still for a picture. I planned on having everyone pose for this picture before Easter Sunday Mass. I thought the picture came out very well 🙂 For Easter we were so blessed to be… Read More
A New Look for the Blog After a baby comes, normal is no longer normal. All the routines have to change. Normal merges with a new normal that now includes the new little one. It’s the one thing you can’t really prepare for during pregnancy. You know it’s coming, but you just have to wait for the little one to… Read More
Just thought I’d spend a minute to drop a few pictures of our littlest, born on February 27, 2008, the Feast of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. My labor and delivery went very smoothly. I was admitted and labor started around 6 am. My doctor broke my water about 9 am, and Katharine Elizabeth was born at 11:18…. Read More
I thought I’d pose for one last pregnancy shot. I’m 38 weeks today. I look small in this picture – the baby has dropped, and I assure you I don’t FEEL small, nor does my weight gain reflect anything smallish!! I have been having some fairly uncomfortable contractions, especially over the last week. They’re fairly regular for a few hours,… Read More
No, not the birds, me! I can’t seem to open the fridge without wiping something down. Yesterday, I moved my rocking chair back to our bedroom, in anticipation of sweet moments spent there with little Katie Elizabeth, and when I walked back through the living room, I saw them…dust bunnies. That’s how it started yesterday. The entire house had to… Read More
The last few weeks have been busy, with Sweet Pea turning 11! Peanut turning 3! Christmas! My anniversary! It has been a welcome busy-ness, but I’m ready for a bit of quiet. Time to re-connect with each of the kids. Time to enjoy spontaneous fun. And time to make some practical preparations for the arrival of our littlest. I am… Read More
Today is our anniversary. We’ve been blessed with 15 years of marriage. It wasn’t the day I had envisioned. Instead of smelling perfume and sizzling steaks from Ruth’s Chris – the scent of Febreeze is wafting through the house, and we enjoyed waffles for dinner. Peanut got sick this morning – icky, awful, spit-up-all-over-the-couch sick. It wasn’t like our anniversary… Read More
My family has been begging for a side shot of…well…my belly. So here I am. At 22 weeks now, the belly is certainly getting out there, though not as much as in other pregnancies. I feel smaller than when I carried Sparkly and Peanut. I have standard pregnancy complaints, nothing major. I live with functional nausea, my sciatic nerve is… Read More
Happy Birthday to our little man, our Sparkly! Always full of smiles. Here is my 16 week belly in all its glory. Lovely photo compliments of the Sweet Pea. Some have questioned if I have gained any weight. Let me assure one and all that a substantial amount of weight gain has occurred – enough to make me nervous about this only being the 16 week mark, and knowing what those last… Read More
