The Month of the Precious Blood

July is the month dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Anne’s post and how she set up her home altar in honor of our Sweet Lord and His Precious Blood. I knew immediately that I wanted to do this in our home! So, I want to be clear, this is only my interpretation of her beautiful idea!

Sweet Pea and I arranged our Crucifix on a pedestal and then we suspended (with the help of some double sided tape) a vibrant red silk from Jesus’ Most Sacred Heart. The red silk represents His blood spilled out for our sins. We draped the silk around a small globe to show that He shed His blood for all of us. And then the silk winds its way around into the Chalice. Sparkly and I cut out small drops of blood and arranged them on our Feast Table. Anne posted the beautiful Offering of the Precious Blood for Souls prayer that we’ll say before our family Rosary, and then each evening after reciting the prayer, one of the small drops of blood will be lovingly placed back in the chalice. What a beautiful holy reminder. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Anne!

An
Offering
Of the Precious
Blood for Souls

O my God, I beg of Thee in
union with the Immaculate Heart
of Mary, through the merits of the
Precious Blood offered Thee in every
Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,
to grant that this day one mortal sin may be
averted, one soul in doubt may be converted to
the truth, one soul about to die in sin may receive
the grace of repentance and a happy death, and
the deliverance of that soul in purgatory which is
nearest Heaven. I wish by this offering to console
the Heart Of Jesus in agony for the souls lost
through the Teaching of error against the
true Church of Christ Jesus,
Our Lord. Amen
