More Mass lessons

With kids sick around here, we haven’t been able to go back to our Mass lessons for a little while. Finally, yesterday we had another lesson. I continue to see benefits for Sparkly in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and these Mass Lessons. Things are very ordered, whether it’s the order of presentation in the lesson, or the way in which materials are organized and set out. For Sparkly that means he doesn’t have to spin his wheels sorting and ordering in his brain – everything is pre-sorted – he can focus on the lesson and enjoy the order. This is the child who sorts everything, any pile or collection of random stuff is sorted by size, M&Ms have to be sorted and grouped before eating. Here he is making sure everything in our materials box is still in the right place.

After the altar is set up, each child offers a small prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus.

Sweet Pea was thrilled to set up the altar for her dad last night. He was impressed I think.
